Mt Baker 2017
This was the year of the total eclipse of the sun. Rena and I considered traveling some place to see it but then decided that perhaps a 90% ellipse would be sufficient. And would not involve fighting for a place to see it. And we would miss the traffic. We flew to Seattle for a short two week excursion and the eclipse was part of that trip. We did some hiking, saw some museums, and visited friends. Our general itinerary was as follows:
Seattle
Olympic NP - Camped at Heart of the Hills campground near Port Angeles for 5 nights and did some nice hiking. Also visited our friend Gary Perless.
Olympia - Visited our friends Sally and Ernie.
Seattle - Had lunch with our previous neighbors in RB, Candy and Paul.
Edmund - Spent a night here in transit. Very nice town.
Mt Baker area - Spent 3 nights in the Douglas Fir campground and did some more great hiking - Horseshoe Bend, Lake Ann, Table Mountain, Artists Point
Bellingham - Visited this delightful town in Northwest Washington.
Seattle
