Stockholm 2022
Rena and I spend 5 nights in Stockholm in August on our own in route to joining a commercial trip to Norway (Overseas Adventure Travel - OAT). We stayed at a airbnb with a kitchen. Stockholm is a beautiful city almost surrounded by water. It is easy to get around by ferry and other public transport. We bought a 7-day transit pass and used if for everything including getting from and to the airport.
We enjoyed walking all over the city among the historic buildings. The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded every year in Stockholm We visited and toured the City Hall where it takes place. The other Nobel awards take place in Oslo. The highlight of the visit was the Vasa Museum where we saw the magnificent warship that sank in the Stockholm harbor on her maiden voyage in 1628. It was salvaged in 1961, restored, and is available to see in the museum.
