London, Bath, Cornwall 2016
In Sept 2016, Rena and Rich traveled to Southern England for a short visit. We had four primary destinations on our itinerary - London, Bath, Dartmoor, and the tip of the Cornwall Peninsula.
We stayed at airbnb or small guesthouses. In London, we used the excellent subway and bus system and used a train to go to Bath. We rented a car for the remainder of the trip since it was harder to use local transportation to visit Dartmoor and Cornwall. I had driven on the left just a few months before on our trip to New Zealand, but found it much more difficult in England due to more traffic and having to navigate freeway interchanges. We survived.
We had a wonderful relaxed trip and experienced London culture in addition to many day hikes and scenic driving loops. London continues to be one of our favorite cities in the world. And it is possible to visit England inexpensively. Our London airbnb was $65 per night and was easy to access on public transport. All of our lodging had access to a kitchen allowing us to cook many of our meals.
