Henke Family Visit 1993
My brother Dave, wife Fran, and daughters Sheri and Stephanie, came to California for a visit. Activities included Venice Beach, San Diego Zoo, Sea World, lunch in Tijuana, Universal Studios, and Disneyland. All the standard place to visit in Southern California.
Fran and Stephanie flew home. Dave, Shari, and I took my Vanagan and spent another week in Southern Utah. We hiked into the Virgin Narrows in Zion NP and saw the waterfall exiting from Mystery Canyon. Many years later, I would rappel down this waterfall. We did a 1-night backpack of Buckskin Gulch, sometimes said to be one of the top 5 backpacks in America. However, we did have to go through the pool of water known as the “Cesspool.” I will leave it to you to imagine what that means. Finally we spent a night at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
