Mt Robson Traverse 1980
In August 1980, George Lowe, Dean Hannibal, and I did a traverse of Mt Robson. At 12,972, it is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. We flew up from Colorado in a small private plane. We climbed the North Face and descended the South Face. The weather and conditions were excellent. We belayed all the pitches on the North Face after crossing the bergschrund. While on the route, a solo climber passed us and we later saw his tracks descending the Kain Face route. The South Face descent traversed the Schwartz Ledges and encountered some hard ice in some to the gullies.
