North Wash Canyons 2013
In Oct 2013, I spent a week at the North Wash area in Southern Utah doing canyon descents. It was during the government shutdown but no one bothered us on BLM land. We camped along the Cedar Point Road on the 7.5 min topo called Turkey Knob. I was with Hal Tompkins, Terry Erickson, Helda Zimmerer, and Dave Erskine for the first 3 canyons, "Fooling Around," "Leprechaun Main Fork," and "Shenanigans." On the 4th day, Terry, Helga and I did part of the "North Fork of Woodruff Canyon". And finally, we were joined by Craig Taylor and Carol Drummond to do "Hogswort." The first 3 canyons are some of the tightest slots around. We encountered water in all of them, sometimes requiring a swim. We used wetsuits in part of Fooling Around. The following photos are in chronological order.
