Dolores Raft and Kayak 1993
The Dolores River starts in Colorado and empties into the Colorado River east of Moab Utah. You can take out at various places on the Colorado after paddling more than 200 miles. There are no crowds and beautiful scenery. Most of the rapids are moderate except two difficult Class 5 ones named Snaggletooth and State Line. The drawback is that the season is short and it takes a heavy snow year in Colorado to have a season at all.
Dave Jaquette arranged the trip. Other participants were Anette Loggins, Howard Booth, Mitch Helbrecht, Lars Larson, and Chris Jaquette. Rena and daughter Marla joined the trip on on the evening of Day 5 at Bedrock.
